Sizeable regeneration opportunity for a brownfield site in Purley, Croydon.
In 2004, Polaska purchased a leasehold interest from J Sainsbury PLC, which was subsequently extended. The site includes a former supermarket, leisure centre and multi-storey car park.
The site is situated off the High Street with pedestrian access linking to Purley train station. The site benefits from an allocation in the Croydon Local Plan and Polaska and their consultant team have been in discussions with Croydon Council on how to deliver a comprehensive redevelopment which would deliver:
- A new Council-run leisure centre
- Specialist older persons accommodation
- Reprovision of some public car parking spaces
- New commercial space
- Significant public realm enhancements
A planning application for the site is due to be submitted later this year, with a targeted determination in Summer 2024.
